The Preshal Trust: Our Work

The Preshal Trust is a cornerstone of the community, offering a wide range of programmes designed to uplift and empower people from all walks of life.

Based in Govan and Paisley, we provide practical, emotional, and spiritual support in a safe and welcoming environment.

Family Support Programme – We work closely with families facing crisis, offering hands-on support that responds to real-life needs. From parenting guidance and help navigating social services to emotional support and crisis intervention, we’re here to walk alongside families through their most challenging times. Every family is different, so our approach is flexible, compassionate, and personal—providing a listening ear, a helping hand, and hope for a better tomorrow.

Community Suppport

Community Learning Programme – Many people in our community have missed education. Our learning programme helps build confidence and skills through literacy classes, IT training, and hands-on courses. Volunteers work one-on-one with individuals to help them read everyday items like bills, signs, and shop receipts – small victories that significantly impact daily life.

Specialist Support Programme – Many of those we support face complex challenges, from addiction to mental health struggles. We provide a structured programme of activities designed to build self-esteem and encourage personal growth. These activities give people a purpose and a sense of belonging, from arts and crafts to digital photography and guitar lessons to IT skills.

Sharing & Partnership

Outreach Programme – Sometimes, a change of environment is the best medicine. We provide a large static caravan at Sandylands Holiday Park in Saltcoats, offering individuals and families a much-needed break from their daily struggles. For many, it’s the first holiday they’ve ever had.

Food Provision Programme – The simple act of sharing a meal can bring people together. We provide breakfast for vulnerable individuals and three weekly lunch clubs serving hot, nutritious meals. With the rise in living costs, more families than ever rely on our emergency food aid service.

Partnerships & Confidence-Building

Partnership Working Programme – Working with local businesses and volunteers, we’ve transformed our space into a hub of opportunity. Raised garden beds, built with business support, provide fresh vegetables for cooking classes and a sense of pride in growing from the ground up.

Equality & Diversity Programme – Every Friday, our Special Needs Day uses music for confidence-building and personal development. Clients from our in-house music club perform to encourage participation. Cooking classes also offer a supportive environment where people with special needs can learn to prepare nutritious meals and build independence.

Compassion & Community

At The Preshal Trust, every success story is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through compassion and community. We’ve seen individuals rebuild their lives after years of addiction, families regain stability and hope after hardship, and young people discover new purpose through learning, creativity, and connection.

These stories are not just moments of change—they are lasting transformations made possible by the support, trust, and belief we offer daily. We are more than a charity—we are a family. A place where people are accepted as they are, encouraged to grow, and supported through life’s challenges. At Preshal, we truly believe that with love and support, change is always possible.
